Part5. Belobog city & the Underworld
The Belobog city:
Our first impression of Belobog was that it was a city of contrasts. On one hand, it was a modern and industrial metropolis, with towering skyscrapers and advanced technology. On the other hand, it was a city under siege, surrounded by a harsh and frozen environment that threatened its survival. To cope with the extreme cold, the city had installed heat stands throughout its streets and buildings, creating a warm and cozy atmosphere for its inhabitants. The heat stands also served as landmarks and meeting points for the locals and visitors alike.
We arrived at Belobog by rail shuttle, a fast and convenient way of traveling across the planet. The rail station was located in the heart of the city, near a large fountain that sprayed water in colorful patterns. We were amazed by the variety and vibrancy of the city life. There were hotels, restaurants, shops, entertainment venues, and cultural attractions to suit every taste and budget. We saw a flower shop that sold exotic and fragrant blooms from other worlds, a newspaper stand that displayed the latest news and gossip from across the galaxy, a vending machine that offered snacks and drinks of all kinds, and many other interesting sights.
But what struck us the most was the abundance of trash bins in the city. They were everywhere: on every corner, along every sidewalk, next to every door. They were not ordinary trash bins, but smart ones that could sort and recycle the waste automatically. They were also equipped with sensors and cameras that could detect any illegal or hazardous materials and alert the authorities. The trash bins were a testament to the city's commitment to environmental protection and sustainability.
Meet Cocolia:
We were greeted by Gepard, a friendly and helpful guide who worked for the city hall. He introduced us to Cocolia, the leader of Belobog and a respected figure among the citizens. She welcomed us warmly and invited us to her office. We told her about our mission on this planet: we were part of a team of experts sent by the Galactic Federation to help deal with the Stellaron problem. The Stellaron were a hostile alien race that had invaded this planet and waged war against its inhabitants. They had established bases in the polar regions and launched attacks on the cities using their advanced weapons and ships. Our goal was to find a way to stop them and restore peace to this world.
Cocolia listened attentively and nodded sympathetically. She thanked us for our assistance and offered us her full cooperation. She said that Belobog was ready to join forces with us and fight against the Stellaron threat. She also said that she had some valuable information and resources that could help us in our task. She asked us to follow her to a secret facility where she would show us more.
We had traveled a long way to meet Cocolia. She was a blonde woman with blue eyes, who had a reputation for being both brilliant and ruthless. We hoped to persuade her to join our alliance against the Stellaron threat, but we knew it wouldn't be easy.
Cocolia welcomed our visit with a polite smile, but she didn't give us a clear answer right away. She said she needed some time to think about our proposal and asked us to stay in a hotel nearby for the night. We agreed, but we felt uneasy about her intentions. Was she stalling for time, or planning something else?
Bronya showed up:
During our visit, we also met Bronya, Cocolia's daughter-in-law. She was a young girl with gray hair and green eyes, who had been rescued by Cocolia from a Honkai experiment. She was now working as a commander under Cocolia's orders, leading a squad of elite mecha pilots. She greeted us with a cold and distant attitude, showing no emotion or curiosity. It seemed like she only had respect for Cocolia, but we wondered if she had her own thoughts on things.
After we left Cocolia's office, we were escorted to the hotel by some of her men. They told us to stay in our rooms and wait for her call. We didn't like the sound of that, but we had no choice. We checked in and settled in our rooms, hoping for the best. But I had a bad feeling that something was about to happen.
